We Have Exciting Product News!

Our SMARTBEAM - developed with General Dynamic's EDGE program - has had a redesign! The unit is now smaller and lighter - 18kg - which makes it more compact. Even better interactive planning!

Introducing the EXTREME DIVE BAG! This product has been tested to a depth of 20m and is completely watertight - perfect size for tablets and other electronic equipment! This is currently on trial with its first customer!

We have been working with our good friends at STEEP and have designed and manufactured the EXTREME AC Backpack! It's 1.5 kW power airconditioner in a 6U Shock Mounted case that can be attached to a 6U equipment case. This was showcased for the first time last week at AFCEA!

DPRTE

What an extremely busy start to the year!

We've been training the new team member Poppy on all things Extreme.

Had a great time at DPRTE 2016 with our amazing stand showcasing our lockdowns, shocks and stitched products.

We're brushing up on our Francais ready to walk the floor at Eurosatory in Paris in June and  preparing to exhibit at DVD 2016 in September!

In preparation for Eurosatory, Poppy has  translated the company presentation into French - dites-moi si vous avez besoin d'une copie!

Proud Barnstaple RFC Supporters!

We recently sponsored all of our local youth rugby team for their Tigers Challenge Tour in Minehead! The team looked great in their Extreme Cases shirts and played absolutely brilliantly with the under 7's and under 8's coming away as champions!

A great team and we're so proud to support them!

That’s it, we’ve done it…12 months of challenges, changes and progress….is complete. The Extreme team has been working hard – Hannah  Bailey our Operations Manager has overhauled our processes and systems and we are confident that they are more robust than ever and our ISO 9001 will soon be in place. Co-owner  & Director Symon Bye is taking brand Extreme to exciting new markets and his unbelievable contacts are opening up fantastic new opportunities. Kevin Tamblin, our Contract Engineer, has done a great job in revamping our engineering and drawing systems, whilst Managing Director Mark Brown, apart from bringing the new team together, has been focused on getting all the manufacturing closer to home.

On that point we have some exciting news – our new manufacturing partner for aluminium products is Greenfield Engineering. Based in North Devon they are perfectly placed to support the expanding Extreme business.

Mark Brown explains why Greenfield is such a perfect match for Extreme:

‘Greenfield brings experience and capabilities that strengthen the Extreme business…and amazingly they are just down the road from our North Devon offices! Their over 4000sqm highly automated plant has features ideal for our product and project mix.

  • Amada Punch laser combination
  • Amada Automated Punching with 45 different tool locations in the punching turret
  • Amada Robotic Bending
  • Salvagnini Automatic Panel Bending perfect for forming large Extreme case panels. Amada Punch laser combination
  • Fully automated Auto-Tech shuttle fed MIG welding robot cell
  • Not just 1, but 2 independent state of the art fully automated pre-treatment powder coating lines.

The first products are now coming through the factory and we are so pleased with the quality and how easy the Greenfield team has made it look! This is an exciting new partnership and we are looking forward to a successful future”

Mark Brown also took the time to recognize the part Extremes previous partner, Hallmark Sheetmetal, had played in getting Extreme to where it is today and thanked Paul and his team for all the support over the last 6 years.

And the news doesn’t stop there; Extreme has invested in in-house test facilities to make sure we deliver what we promise. A high pressure 100l/m water jet rig has been set up at the factory to test for water ingress up to IPx6.

If that’s not good enough, we also now have a 1.8m water tank where we can pressurize and submerse our cases for the more Extreme requirements.

We told you we had made some changes!

Exciting times for the Extreme team, give us a call if you want any further details on the changes…or if you want to discuss new projects.

Best regards

The Extreme Team

North Devon Business Awards 2015

North Devon Awards 2015 – Micro Business of the year!

The Extreme Team attended the North Devon Business Awards on the evening of the 19th June. It was a great night, great food, great atmosphere and we were very happy to come away with the Micro Business of the Year award!

The North Devon Journal reported that we were an excellent example of how it is possible to build an international business in a remote area like North Devon! We were told that the judges were impressed by our reach, exporting 80% of our orders into Europe and our use of local manufacturers and suppliers.

We hope to enter the North Devon Journal Business Awards again in 2016 – watch this space!

Shortlisted at the North Devon Business Awards 2015

We have been shortlisted for two awards at the North Devon Business Awards 2015!

At Extreme Cases we have always been proud to use local suppliers and manufacturers.  Earlier in the year we were recognised for the opportunities that we have brought to the local area and nominated for the awards.

We are happy to announce that we have now been shortlisted for the Business of the Year and Micro Business award on the 19th June.

More and more now we are being asked to look at custom made pouches for specialist applications. Especially tactical radios and other rucksack mounted electronics.

Recently we were asked to look at 2 styles of pouches for the
SlingShot® unit.

SlingShot® is a small and lightweight unit that attaches to existing radios, enabling users to maintain real-time Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communications in all situations and locations. It is currently available with both UHF and VHF capacity, for military and civilian use, with manpack, vehicle-mounted and ground or sea options.

Slingshot® offers a straightforward and cost-effective way to achieve global, secure, communications for those using in-service radios with national, multi-national and inter-departmental cryptographic security.

Using Inmarsat’s L-TAC I-4 communications network to provide L-Band to L-Band BLOS communications from its global constellation of geostationary satellites, Slingshot® removes the need to rely on limited TACSAT bandwidths for secure communications. It’s omni-directional antenna and flexible beam-range ensures reliable and resilient communications wherever and whenever needed.

As usual with Extreme cases, these aren’t ordinary pouches, with high quality waterproof zips, padded walls and cable management with exit glands they are designed to protect the equipment. Also supplied with Molle mounting system.
