Mego Lockdown Container

Construction Industry Loses Over £800M To Theft Every Year!

Theft of plant and tools from sites is a major issue and costs the construction millions every year, not just in the equipment costs but also insurance bills and downtime. We were asked by a Gloucester building contractor to come up with a solution.

Initially we were looking at our lockdown range of containers…but decided we needed to go large on this problem!

The Mega Lockdown – a reinforced 20′ container fitted out with storage bays with padlockable steel framed wire mesh doors and tamper proof external locks.

Sub-contractors can now have their own individual secure location to leave their equipment when away from site. They can even plug in and recharge batteries.

  • 20’side opening container
  • strong, steel, anti-vandal structure
  • high security padlock lockbox
  • standard cargo doors to one 8ft end
  • full concertina cargo doors to one 20ft side
  • reinforced roof and floors
  • 6x lockable secure storage bays
  • 3 tier steel box section shelving in each bay
  • mesh caged padlockable doors
  • power distribution board
  • twin charging sockets
  • wall mounted convection heater
  • fluorescent light with glass diffuser

additional security options:

  • Internal CCTV camera
  • CISA 285-75 heavy duty container locks (anti saw/anti pick/attack resistant)

Extreme Gifts

With Christmas very nearly upon us we have some great Christmas Extreme gift ideas which are perfect for Santa’s sleigh:

Know someone who is into the great outdoors or simply always dropping their phone?  Then one of our smart phone ortablet cases is the ideal gift:  As with most of our Extreme products our cases are tested to Mil-Std 810F, has a built in screen protector, protected device controls/ports and dust filters.  (Add a rail mount for someone that is into extreme mounting biking) They also come in a range of colours and are importantly not limited to being available just for IPhones and IPads.

Great for Extreme environments or even for using on the beach!

For a gift that exceeds all expectations look no further than a HPRC case!  Durable, strong, watertight and very protective. These cases offer the best protection for components, camera kits or any other expensive equipment that needs protection, our HPRC rifle case is a first choice gift for any shooting sportsman or woman and our laptop case is a faultless choice for any traveller.

Know someone that is going off for their annual ski trip? The Karrimor SF Sabre Day Sack is ideal for day trekking and overnight stays it even allows skis to be carried on the sides of the pack. These bags are not the same Karrimor as you can buy in Sports Direct these are intended primarily for military use and are designed to last a lifetime.

And something not for Christmas.. We have a limited stock run of eight 19″ 3U Shock Mounted Cases available with over a 50% discount (£400 usual price £850). These are our Mil-Std Aluminium cases. Complete with a shock mounted 560mm rack, recessed fittings, pressure relief valve and 1/4 turn compression latches.  Delivery first week of January.

Weight is over.. Carbon Fibre case for Steep

Weight is over

New and exciting from the Extreme team… the weight is over!

We were asked to develop a lightweight, rugged case for a communication system by Steep GmbH.

Previously designed into a Copolymer Polypropylene watertight case at over 9kg….we managed to reduce the weight to just over 6kg in an Extreme aluminium Transporter case. But we knew we could do better, introducing the Extreme Carbon Flyer!

Manufactured in Carbon Fibre & weighing in at just under 3.8kg we think we’ve cracked it. Yet we’ve not sacrificed any ruggedness:

  • Recessed fittings
  • Mild Steel sprung handles
  • Die – cast zinc alloy hinges with stainless steel pins
  • Robust 75mm diameter x 25mm wide inboard castors made  from Impact resistant nylon with solid rubber tyres
  • Robust, tamper resistant, lockable zinc alloy latches. Low profile and recessed for added protection
  • Watertight ‘o’ ring gasket

And its built to airline regulation carry on size!

Internally this case has a continuous gasketed flange for panel mounting electronics…even the panel can be custom made in carbon fibre.

But if you just wanted a lightweight equipment case we could supply a bespoke internal foam pack.

Give us a call if you want any further information on the Carbon Flyer or any other Extreme Cases products.

DPRTE 2014

DPRTE 2014

The Extreme team were out in force for the DPRTE (Defence Procurement, Research, Technology & Exportability) show in Cardiff on 8 October. The show is the UK’s premier defence procurement event, and it proved to be really valuable day for us.

DPRTE provides a great platform for both MOD and industry to connect in order to explore the key challenges, programmes and future opportunities. Events like this allow us to learn what’s around the corner and plan ahead, and of course it’s a great chance to meet new people and have a jolly good chat!

On our stand were Extreme Cases aficionados Hannah Bailey, Mark Brown and Gaz and Frankie Pope, who were joined by Government services specialist (and Extreme Cases client!) Serco, showcasing a GPRFTS radio frequency test system within one of our Shock Mounted cases. We were also able to show off our Karrimor SF Backpacks and Military Rucksacks, as well as our Carbon Fibre Carry On cases and HPRC waterproof cases.

The show was one of the most successful trade events we’ve attended for a number of years Extreme Cases will certainly be back at DPRTE in 2016!

If you didn’t get a chance to come and see us please drop us a line, we’d love to hear from you.
